Ceramic matrix composites continue to spark interest in high-performance engineering markets – phenomenal growth is forecast in aerospace and defense, in particular, and North America is the leading market.
A number of leading exhibitors and speakers at Ceramics Expo & Conference 2018 will address the steady advance of ceramic matrix composites (CMCs), and rightly so as they remain an exciting materials group loaded with potential.
The CMC market was already headed towards $2 billion by 2016 and authors of one of the more recent reports reckon that figure will hit $7.5 billion by 2026, so it’s most definitely serious business. This family of materials – whether it is C/C, oxide/oxide or the increasingly employed SiC/SiC – offers a game-changing combination of lighter weight, ultra-high temperature capabilities, high strength, reduced cooling requirements,…
Foam Expo 2018 closed its doors in March, having proved yet again that this is the must-attend event for everyone involved in the technical foam manufacturing supply chain.
The show featured 291 exhibitors displaying cutting-edge technologies and concepts to 4,859 visitors including representatives of industry titans such as Nike, Honeywell, Ford, Toyota, Amazon, BASF, Apple and Bose. The event attracted considerable international interest, with attendees flying in from all over the world, including Mexico, Japan and China in addition to more local visitors from the USA and Canada. Werner Van Peteghem of Recticel explained why his company had travelled from Belgium to exhibit at the show: “It’s a global market. We’re an important player in Europe but we want to be much more global. There is so much we can learn from both continents because the issues are the same for everyone. That’s what brings us here.”
Many companies were exhibiting at Foam Expo for the second time, following their overwhelmingly positive experience at the inaugural event in 2017. Dimitri Dounis of NCFI, a manufacturer of spray, OEM and flexible polyurethane foam, spoke for all…
Space Tech Expo Europe launched at Germany’s Messe Bremen last month to record numbers.
Over the course of three days, 3,354 industry figures from across the supply chain flocked to the exhibition hall, mingling with 1,721 unique companies and 333 exhibiting companies. Space Tech Expo USA 2017 successfully re-entered Pasadena last month as industry insiders clustered at America’s premier free-to-attend space event.
Drawing in more attendees than ever before, the Pasadena Convention Center thrummed with activity as industry peers gathered to share ideas, showcase new products, and discover the very latest in space-related technology. More than 5,000 people registered to see and test out new products and technologies from technical designers, sub-systems suppliers, and manufacturers who serve the civil, military, and commercial space sectors. Together, they made up the highest visitor count in Space Tech Expo’s six-year history.
As well as being a place to network, source new business opportunities, and share knowledge, 2017’s the show delivered a unique insight into the evolution of the sector. The third Ceramics Expo closed its doors on April 27, 2017 following another year of attendee growth and a great wave of optimism for the future.
More than 300 exhibitors set out their stalls in Cleveland’s impressive I-X Center, and they didn’t have to wait long for an excited response from thousands of visitors. “I’m really impressed with the amount of traffic we’ve had this year,” said Wendy Evans of Morgan Advanced Materials. “It’s definitely increased from the previous two years and the footprint has expanded, which is really exciting.”
This year’s expo offered more booths, a broader selection of technologies, a record number of live demos, and more countries represented than ever before, bringing an altogether wider perspective and a real panorama of innovation.
Little wonder, then, that Ceramics Expo 2017 attracted numerous C-suite executives drawn from right across the manufacturing, engineering design, supply, and R&D spectra, providing them all with not only presentations of…
